Stop and Stare Sunday

Today, I carried a big bag of groceries home and I can’t help but feel blessed because it’s not every Sunday (like it used to) that we can buy that many instant noodles and junk food! I also got to eat Chao Fan, bought two pairs of pants which cost 50 pesos each and(!) mom bought me a new pair of (beamed notes) earrings as a sorry I’m going away for the rest of the day and I can’t spend time with you gift, so everything was going well today — until tonight. Mark and I have been busy playing RebirthRO again and because of that, we’ve been lacking sleep (him at least). When he told me he was going to sleep a few hours off and let me hunt my quest items (even after begging him not to because I want him to be the one hunting), I thought of buying us cookies & cream so he won’t be able to shut his eyes (an excuse for my craving, hee!). Thankfully, he agreed and we quickly gathered ₱202, just enough to buy two frappes, a panini to share and jeepney fare — if I drop a single peso, I’d have to walk home. My idea, my task, so I left right away and didn’t even mind that I was in my pambahay clothes — loose shorts, tsinelas na mayamuit, Mark’s loose and fluffy (and now filthy) jacket (with a hoodie because I had no umbrella and it was raining cats and dogs) — I just wanted to get us coffee.

Unfortunately, (with my desperation and all) I forgot that it was a Sunday and Libro was closed. I was shred to pieces when I got there — stood by the closed door for a couple of minutes, heartbroken, while thinking of another way to get coffee with the money I have.

I walked towards the main downtown area, trying to find a place selling cheap iced coffee and because the streets were wet, I slipped and stumbled. It was embarrassing, especially because a guy was walking along with me and stared at me when I fell down. Seriously, he stopped(!) and stared(!) — and when I got up, he went on with his life. WTH! There were also a few people who saw me on my knees (and on a puddle, eww) but I didn’t look around so I won’t feel that humiliated. Uuuggghhh!!!

Anyway, I continued on with my search for coffee even though it was (more) embarrassing walking around with an even filthier white jacket, a wounded knee (with black particles on it), and feet covered in mud. I tried not to cry — bisan mahapdos. Passed through a couple of blocks and I ended up in Dunkin’ Donuts, bought brewed coffee, hot choco, and a bacon bunwich and then went home to Mark, sobbing.

I drank 1/4 of Mark’s coffee in exchange for letting him have 1/4 of my hot choco to get rid of his bitter tongue. It never fails to kick me (hard!) in the head — that’s why I don’t like it very much. But it’s good. Everything was still worth it. Mark’s asleep (or trying to sleep) now to let me blog but I know when I wake him up, he’s going to be up for probably the rest of the day (tomorrow) and he’ll end up hunting for my Notoriety quest items! Mwahahahaha!

“SORRY!” (/sry) from my little Star Gladiator for not updating my blog as promised. I still haven’t blogged about the things I did last (and last last) week! Huu! I was actually planning on going on hiatus because of RebirthRO but I think I’ll just continue posting LSS-ed songs as an excuse for an update. Once I’m done with my Notoriety Quest (I’m three tiers away), I promise to write a very long entry — so long you might not be able to finish it — so let me get back to hunting Aloes, Matchsticks, and Four Leaf Clovers now so I can do that, okay? /kis
